Hades

Well, Let's just say we had a rough weekend. Which is good for us, because we need humbling every now and again. We decided to venture up to my parents cabin for the weekend. We arrived at approximately 10pm friday night, only for sterling to find he had to hike in snow to his waist to get to the cabin door. He was greeted with a massive amount of chill inside the cabin. We dared not try to turn on the water that night so we turned on the heat, watched a movie, and fell asleep. Day 2 of vacation from Hello, Sterling spent the day trying to pry open the frozen shut garage and dig out a well. I ventured to Alpine Wy to find winterizer because I was convinced we were leaving and this was all not worth it. Sterling finally opened the garage, crawled in the well, but no water to the cabin. AHHHHHHHHHH so annoying. Needless to say, we went without water for three days. I melted a crap load of snow so we could do dishes and flush the toilet (two times the whole weekend). We did stay warm however which was grand! Sunday we woke up with fresh spirits and attended sacrament meeting in Swan Valley. That ward is great, we always enjoy it when we go there. Probably 75% of the ward came up to us and said hello.
We decided to venture home after returning to the cabin for some breakfast! We were loving our drive home from the cabin and even had the sunroof open. Sterling gave me a new pair of sunglasses recently that I love and I was eager to wear them (sidenote, sorry). We were just commenting how blessed we were and how much we have when all of a sudden we came around a curve, and due to the melting snow and excellent weather, there was a ginormous rock in the road. Sterling could not swerve because we were going around a corner and he didn't want to have a head on, and to the right were more rocks, so we went straight over it. I heard the loudest crunch under the car and we immediately pulled over. OIL EVERYWHERE!!!! There was so much fluid leaking under the car it was unbelievable. We called roadside assistance and they said our insurance would only cover, listen to this, NINE miles! We were a hundred miles from home. Disaster. Needless to say my amazing parents came to the rescue, found a trailor, and drove two hours to tow our car home. Getting the car on the trailor was another disaster in itself. We hitchhiked, yes hitchhiked back to the cabin so we didn't freeze in the car waiting three hours for my parents. What a weekend. Good news, insurance is covering the cost of the accident so we only have to pay our small deductable, thank goodness!

On a better note, Sterling was accepted to the University of New Mexico for architecture graduate program. Sterling found this out on the Friday before his huge senior art show. That weekend he pulled 2 all nighters, and slept a total of 4 hours. He to conduct sacrament meeting, on four hours of sleep, poor guy. The show was amazing and I am sooooooo proud of him. He is an incredible artist.

I have three more weeks of clincial education and then I AM DONE FOREVER!!!! I cannot wait. I have been trying to study for boards, but I have been extremely busy which is so lame-o. So that's us, we have had a wonderful couple of months, busy but wonderful!

Holy Canoli you're alive!! I check your blog regularly in hopes that you'll update it. I CANNOT believe your cabin story. I love that you melted your own water though. Made me laugh. Regardless, it's still fun to get away. I am coming for Mandy's wedding next weekend and I would love to see you! I'll let you know when I get in town. Also, I RSVP'd to Kristy already that I won't be coming to Hailey's shower on Saturday. But I did let her know of a little surprise for the party so if she hasn't told you then ask her.

I hope everything goes well and hopefully I get to see you next weekend. Hang in there with school. You are so close!

Seriously, what a mess!!! I couldn't help but giggle the whole way through your post. So sorry that is rude but I'm sure you will laugh about it someday. I kind of wish Brandon and I were there for the drama. Sorry, I got to quit making this a joke, I'm glad insurance has you covered. It is so good to hear Sterling's art show went well! You really have to save everything because Brandon and I want a little show for ourselves when we come to visit. And YAY!!! for New Mexico. I'm sure there will be a lot more acceptances to come. And YAY! for you and almost being done with school. Let's hope your education will take you higher places than mine has because right now you can call me a BABYSITTER, yes I repeat a babysitter. Hehe. Love ya, talk to ya soon.
